Speakers?

If you are a sound connoisseur, speakers can make or break your system. Obviously, if you buy less expensive speakers, the sound will not be of the quality as more expensive speakers.

Consider the following when shopping for speakers:

Frequency response range: This should be as close to 20Hz-20KHz as possible. This is the range of human hearing. The better speakers come close to meeting this range. Some speakers also include the 3D sound.

Shielding: Your speakers should be shielded, or they could interfere with your monitor, CPU, or hard drive. Speakers contain magnets and should be kept away from the CPU and floppy disks.

Amplifiers: Your speakers should come with their own amplifiers. Most sound cards produce a very weak signal, and the amplifiers will boost the signal. Look at the number of watts the speakers produce. This can range from 4-100 watts. The higher the number, the more volume you will get.

Batteries or AC: Many speakers run from batteries, while others use an AC adapter. While either type will work, it is more convenient to buy speakers that include the AC adapter.

Sound Control Knobs: Check for the number of sound control knobs on the speakers. Better speakers have not only volume, but also bass, treble, and sometimes super bass.

Finally, if you have a wonderful stereo system, you can forget buying speakers. You can connect your PC directly up to your stereo.
